My Brain Is Melting
It is so hot I think my brain has melted. The air-condtioning can't keep up and this is just the beginning of summer. Chewy is mostly moving from spot to spot trying to find someplace cool to lie down. I haven't seen the cats all day. I also haven't gotten any writing done. I've been playing mahjong all afternoon thinking I should be writing and really not caring.
I went to lunch with Debra, my critique partner, yesterday and even the restaurant was warm. I did manage to add about three pages to my fantasy short story, but I couldn't figure out the end and gave up.
Rob is off to his Anime convention this weekend and won't be back until Wednesday some time. He's about four miles from home, but they got a hotel room and have crammed nine people into it. The only bad thing about him being gone is I have to cook and do the dishes. And he left me half a sink full when he left. This is his big event of the year and he looks forward to all year. He has a costume and owes his big brother and me money. But he only gets to be young once.
This week at work was terrible. The schedule was a nightmare. I got so stressed I forgot to do Saturday's schedule befor I left, then I missed my boss' call Friday morning. Slept right through the ringing. I didn't know what to do with Saturday morning, which is probably why I closed the schedule and promptly forgot about it.
I have to work tomorrow, but I figure it will be really quiet and maybe I can get some of the pile on my desk taken care of before it takes over the office.
Everyone have a great week and a safe July 4th. Chewy and I are staying home together. He gets scared when people light fireworks and wants to sit on me. Besides, I have to work Wednesday and I figured I'd make flyers for my two upcoming book signings.
