Back from EPICon
I got home from EPICon a week ago, but I'm still tired. Linda and I had a great time. This is a picture of Lake Las Vegas from our balcony.
We drove since it isn't that far from home. Linda's husband bought us a GPS system so we wouldn't get lost. Minnie, the system, can be annoying. I hit some button by accident and set her off. She would not be quiet. I ended up driving so Linda could work Minnie. We only took one wrong turn getting to the hotel.
We were tired, so Linda went to rest for a few minutes and I plug in my computer. I had double checked that we would have internet access in our room because I had to teach my classes even if I was gone. The internet didn't work, so we called downstairs. A man came up to fix it. Then he found out that the wing we in didn't have internet, which was a problem since I had to have it.
The resort was nice enough to move us and we ended up with an upgrade to a two bedroom, two bathroom suite. It was really nice. We had a living room, dining room, kitchen and each of us had her own bedroom and bathroom. We took the internet cord from the first room so we both could plug our computers in. It is amazing how important the internet is even on vacation.
I called home on Wednesday evening to let Tom know where I was. I called rather late, but luckily he wasn't asleep. Chewbaca was still sitting by the front door waiting for me to come home. I guess he spend the entire night waiting for me to come home and most of the weekend. He was so happy to see me, but didn't take it too well when I went back to work on Tuesday. He waited for over an hour for me to get home from work. Part of it has to be that we went on daylight savings, so now he doesn't know when I should be home.
Rob yelled at me when I got home because I kept leaving messages asking about Chewbaca and Teddi, but I didn't ask about him. I told him, he could call if there were any problems. The animals couldn't and since no one can seem to remember to feed and water them, I have to call and nag.
