Library Speech
I just got back from my speech at the library. It went well and I think people enjoyed it. I sold two copies of my historical romance novel, The Irish Countess, which was a bonus. Now, I'm tired from standing so long.
I finally got all the Christmas stuff packed up this week. I was going to do it Thursday night, but Chewbaca was digging in the boxes and the boys were gone. After finding the dead rat in the middle of the floor last week, thanks to Stinkers, I was afraid to look in the boxes for fear I'd find something alive in there. I waited for someone else to be home so I could scream for help if necessary. I also nudged the boxes before I opened any of them to make sure nothing was going to run out. Nothing did. I have no idea what Chewbaca thought was in there.
It was nice to have Monday off from work, but the rest of the week was a killer. It was like I had to do as much work with one less day. I never thought I'd get it all done. We are hiring a new Program Manager to do parent conferences and I start training him week after next. That should help. I now have 58 parents I'm conferencing with and I don't have enought time. At least work is picking up again.
I started Sam's story. He was a character in The River's Treasure, one of my historical romances. I did three chapters this week, so I'm off to a good start. I still have to figure out what is happening in my next fantasy short story that I started.
We having new heating and air conditioning put in this week. Tom is staying home three days while the work is done. This happened really fast.
I'm on the last row on the blanket I'm making for my godson's baby. It'll be done tonight. I'm glad to have it done since the baby is due March 10. It's really a large blanket, but she'll get lots of use out of it.
