A New Family Member
Elijah Liam joined our family on Saturday, August 25. He was three weeks early but still weighed 6 lbs. and 14 oz. He is doing really well and is a happy baby most of the time. He likes to sit in Nana's lap and sleep. I get to see him pretty often since they only live five minutes away. It is nice that way.
I made him a blanket and it didn't look so big until we put him in the middle of it. Eli is pretty small, but he makes the blanket look humongous.
Rob has gone back to school and will be going back to work next week. That means I am at the other end of the phone if Loki or Eli need anything. I don't mind. I can work any hours I want so it makes it easier for me to do things if needed.
Chewbaca has taken to the new baby fairly well. He mostly ignores him unless he cries. That Chewbaca does not like and wants to help make him stop. Of course Chewbaca wants to be paid attention to when the baby is there. He still thinks he is the center of the universe.
Count Rougen mostly stays away from Eli. He isn't into babies. He has gotten so big that there is practically nothing he can't get up on. His new favorite perch is the refrigerator. Unfortunately, there are things on top of it, but he doesn't care.
Count Rougen likes to give Chewbaca a bath. Of course every time I get the camera, one of them gets up. It looks ridiculous since Count Rougen is so much smaller than Chewbaca.

Summer Break
Ruegan is still growing. He is also still honery. He has been better about sleeping on the top of the chair and letting Chewbaca sleep in the seat. However, the other night Ruegan decided that he wanted the seat of the chair. Chewbaca also wanted the seat of the chair. Chewbaca put his front paws in the seat of the chair around Ruegan and bounced the chair. It is a rocker/recliner. Then he butted his nose against the cat. The cat just laid there and ignored him. After several minutes, Chewbaca gave us and went and laid on the floor. Ruegan stretched out in the seat of the chair and got comfy.
This week has been my summer break from Everest. I got my grades done last Sunday so I have had most of the week to do nothing. I had to set up my new classes on Thursday, but that doesn't take long. It has been nice to goof off. I went to lunch on Tuesday, to lunch and a movie on Friday, and am gong to dinner tomorrow Sunday. Then it is back to work on Monday.
I did manage to write 5 pages on A Chance For Love, my historical time-travel romance. I plan on getting 10 more pages done before Monday. I only have about 40 more pages to finish the first draft. Now I am trying to decide what project I should do next. I have accomplish something over the holiday. I also put my new covers up for Yesteryear's Love, a historical time-travel romance, and Freedom's Treasure, a historical romance. They are both available at Kindle and Nook. The links are on the Book page.
My new grandson-to-be is growing rapidly. He weighed 3 pounds and 12 ounces with 11 weeks to due date. I am amazed that they can figure that out. I got to go with the kids for the last sonogram. It was amazing. We could see his brain and his heart and all four chambers beating. He's in the 80% for weight. Unfortunately mama is rather tiny and Eli is making her miserable. Every time I see her, she sticks out further. There is no place but out for the baby to go. I will be amazed if she makes it to September 17. I think Eli is going to outgrow his space and may have to join us in this world a bit sooner. We are just about ready for him. We are having trouble finding a mattress for the cradle, but I think I have an idea. Rob can go buy the stroller/car seat combo tomorrow. My sister and Tom are buying that for them. Then everything will be ready for Eli's arrival.
There was a baby shower for Loki last weekend and she got all types of stuff plus plenty of clothes and diapers. She will need a few complete outfits for Eli, but other than that, I think everything was covered. My godchildren and their families came and it is always fun to see them. Bryce, my goddaughter's little boy, won one of the games so he was excited. I'm not sure the kids have room for everything in their apartment. The extra diapers are here.
Rob did finish the playroom, which won't be used for awhile, but looks really nice. He is not working on the back bathroom, but he got a job, so I figure the bathroom has turned into a several month job. That is fine with me. It was getting expensive fixing the house and I was running out of projects to keep paying to do.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Stay cool.

Graduation Day

I have uploaded The River's Treasure, a historical romance, to Kindle and Nook myself. Go directly to the book page for links to purchase this book.
Rob has finally graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor's in history. He hopes to become a high school teacher. It took all morning, my walker got broken trying to get it into and out of Tom's car, my legs were beyond tired and the restaurant Rob wanted to go to for lunch didn't open until 3 p.m. Rob and his dad were not with us when we discovered this and we couldn't get anyone to answer their cell phones. We finally all ended up at Sizzler for lunch. I am glad he has graduated and I am glad it is over. Graduations go on forever and are always boring and hot. I did manage to not sunburn my feet this time.I have had little time to write. This term that I am teaching will be over next month so I should have more time to write. I really want to finish my time-travel romance.

THe Kilted Governess Is Now on Kindle and Nook
I have put The Kilted Governess up on Kindle and Nook. It is actually selling pretty well at Kindle for the first day. Make sure you check it out.

Rob tiled the bathroom. It had a problem with since the roof leaked over the bathtub, but the new roof stopped that problem, so Rob fixed the roof, tiled and decorated.
It was his first time putting up tile and he did a really good job. We over bought so there is enough to do the back bathroom also. There were a lot more sea shells on the walls last time I decorated the bathroom, but there was only a single tile around the top of the tub. The sea shells were left over from when I taught elementary school and I didn't want to waste them
Last weekend was Bella's first birthday party. She is not real good about going to anyone but daddy and mommy. She was playing in the middle of the floor when I walked in and Michael was standing by her. I went over and kissed him and she had a fit. How dare I kiss her daddy.
The afternoon went pretty well and I did get to hold her for about 15 minutes. Mom and dad were out of sight so that helped.
I am still working on my time travel, A Chance For Love. I don't have as much time because I have so many classes, but I getting some added to it. I know what needs to be done. I just have to get to the end.

Birthdays
We celebrated Tom's and Michael's birthdays on Sunday by going to Benihana's for dinner. Everyone was so busy this month, we actually celebrated early. Bella was an angel and sat in her highchair for over two hours doing her little dance, smiling, and stuffing her face. She did not get cranky at all. The only time she got upset was when Tom first said hello to her. He has a gruff voice and scared her.
We went back to the house afterwards and had presents. I made them get ice cream at the restaurant because I didn't make a cake this year. Tom's on a diet and I don't need it either. Bella let me hold her as long as dad was next to me. She is still clingy and wants one of her parents right there. Part of it is the mom is gone so much with work and school, but she will be graduating in May, so it will be better.
Bella finally got her two bottom front teeth in the last couple of weeks. I was beginning to wonder. She didn't want to show them to me, but I finally got to see them.
Chewbaca was in heaven when we got home because he had someone to play with him. Bella wanted his squeaky ball, but it was all slobbery so she couldn't have it. I'm not sure how Chewbaca would do about sharing, but if she dropped it for him, he would be fine. When she gets older I am sure we will find out.
Rugen was all nervous like he always is when we have company. He won't let anyone near him. He is such a fraidy cat. After everyone left, he curled up with Chewbaca and let Chewbaca give him a bath. Then he was all slobbery.
I am on Chapter 12 of my new book, A Chance For Love, a romance time-travel. I am over the half way point and have managed to add to it every week.
I also put Dressed for Dying, a Sean Madigan Mystery, and Saloon Singer & A Gambler is Born, short stories about the main characters in The Lucky Lady, a western historical romance, up on Kindle and Nook. There are links on the book page of this website.
