Genevieve Rawlings awakens on the banks of the Mississippi River, cold, half drowned and with no recollection of how she came to be there. Cooper Monroe takes her in and she finds love and happiness with his family, something she doesn't believe she's ever had. Then someone tries to steal her diamond and ruby necklace and her life. As he protects her, he finds he is falling in love with her. Cooper lost his first wife to a fever and has vowed to never again love a woman, but no matter how hard he tries, he cannot stop himself from loving her. After he returns her to her father in New Orleans and knows that she will be safe, he returns to his family. She longs to return to the love in Cooper's house that is missing from hers. Can she convince him that she'll be happy as a farm wife instead of a socialite?

"The River’s Treasure is a poignant read that reaches out and touches the heart. Genevieve is caught in the middle while one man wishes her life and the other craves her soul to love always. Cooper still has moments where he has not gotten over the loss of his wife and wonders if he should give in to another love. The emotion is tender and caring as the two try to overcome the obstacles before them. I thought the way Ms. Quinn outlines the story of the memory lapse with Genevieve was quite believable in all her actions. The well-rounded secondary characters keep the story flowing smoothly. I admire the way Ms. Quinn created the setting and instilled such a wonderful atmosphere that put this reader in the core of the story. With a great feel for the era, and some magnificent research, I found this read most remarkable and it definitely left me with a great feeling."

"The River’s Treasure is a wonderful period piece. The historical aspects were accurate with the dialogue for the 1830 southern society which created a colorful landscape painted by Janet Quinn taking the reader back in time to glimpse at how the characters lived. I would recommend this to anyone who wants romance and escape into another time period."
